ABOUT THE ROLE – Position Summary

The Software Developer plays an important role in the development cycle. He or she participates in the different stages of the development cycle, from analysis to the design and implementation of solutions. This very dynamic position requires close collaboration with several work teams and covers a large number of projects, including integration solutions, web and application solutions.

The Software Developer is an important role in the Product Development department responsible for developing RBRO products to a high level of quality. This individual is a member of the Development team which applies development best practices to analyze, design, and implement RBRO software applications to fulfill customer and business needs. This individual will also support the implementation and deployment of new business functionality through our agile software development lifecycle.

The Software Developer reports to the Director of Product Development

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Work with QA Analysts and Product Owners to review and clarify requirements
  • Develop software applications of varying complexity
    • Plan and estimate development activity
    • Participate in solution architecting/design
    • Code and test the required functionality
    • Debug and resolve software issues
    • Draft and review technical documentation
  • Perform code reviews and code analysis as needed
  • Participate in the continual improvement of our development strategy
  • Work with internal teams to investigate issues and suggest potential work-arounds
  • Work with internal teams to enhance their understanding of technology solutions
  • Other duties as assigned


ABOUT THE CANDIDATE – Qualifications & Experience

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in a QA testing role including test planning, design, and execution
  • Experience with manual, integrated and performance testing
  • Experience testing enterprise-class system software packages
  • Experience with these technologies:
    • DB Testing and SQL scripting
    • Web and native UI testing
    • XML/JSON file formats
  • Experience with test automation including scripting automated tests
