When Sub Rosa Law launched in 2020, the founding partners aimed to combine the capabilities of a large firm with the personalized service of a boutique practice. With limited budget and staff, they needed a top-tier document management solution that offered advanced functionality beyond what smaller firms typically have. iManage, implemented by RBRO Solutions, gave them the tools to achieve this vision efficiently and effectively.
Sub Rosa knew Dropbox wasn’t enough for their needs. Estate planning involves complex documents that change over time, and tracking those changes is crucial. “Dropbox doesn’t offer the ability to track changes or maintain an indisputable record,” explains Michael Rosenblum, founding partner of Sub Rosa.
Sub Rosa also needed a cost-effective solution that prioritized client services over IT infrastructure. Additionally, the system had to support their mobile team, enabling them to work and collaborate from anywhere, even on the go. “We needed a solution that allowed us to work productively, even remotely,” says Rosenblum.
After two Sub Rosa partners recommended iManage, the firm needed an integrator who understood their needs. RBRO delivered a demo that quickly won over the entire team. “One partner, who was new to iManage, was immediately sold,” says Michael Rosenblum, founding partner.
As a new firm, Sub Rosa didn’t need to migrate legacy files. Instead, RBRO provided a fixed template and folder structure, allowing the team to manually organize files at their own pace. RBRO implemented iManage’s cloud-based Work 10, offering a seamless experience across devices and easy integration with Office 365.
RBRO’s customized training ensured the team quickly adapted to the system. “We relied on RBRO to define our needs, and they delivered a solution we're extremely happy with,” says Rosenblum.

With iManage in place, Sub Rosa can respond to clients faster. “I can quickly search emails and documents, allowing me to answer client questions the same day,” says founding partner Michael Rosenblum.
The cloud-based Work 10 lets the team work from anywhere, on any device, providing a high-quality client experience even during the pandemic. iManage’s drafting and versioning features are especially valuable for estate planning, allowing Sub Rosa to easily access and review past versions of documents.
As the firm grows, they plan to continue working with RBRO for future innovations, including CRM integration. “iManage has been crucial to our growth. If I had to choose, I’d give up my office space before giving up iManage,” says Rosenblum.
